Something very 90s about a book where the cover advertises "woolly war" and "wily wizards", then you read it and it's about rape and genital mutilation. Dark Age of Comics energy.
The prose from the dream sequence pops. That is not what I was expecting when you were just describing the book to me. You can see how he's not making life easy for the marketing guys though. Like is it science fiction... no... is it a comedy... well, not really... is it like Moorcock? No? Okay so like, where's the entry point...
I'm fixating on codpiece cowboy Riker giving a lady a lute. With evil sphere fish in the background! If that's not accurate to the book I want to read the book it's accurate to.
